Fitness for Writing
Fitness for Writing is a therapeutic program based on the "Getting It Write" (Audette and Carson 1998) and "Handwriting Without Tears" programs (Olsen, 2008). It is designed to make the often frustrating, but necessary, task of handwriting fun for children.

This program will help to educate parents about possible reasons for a child's difficulties with handwriting. It will provide home activity ideas that will encourage skill development in the areas needed by each child. Also, it will encourage a more positive attitude toward practicing handwriting, and will encourage improved self-esteem and handwriting legibility for each child.

The group will be led by 2 skilled occupational therapy practitioners, and will have no more than 6 children in each group.
