For Summer 2010 the Friendship Circle is included as part of our Sensational Summer Programs.

The Friendship Circle
It is with great pleasure that we announce the addition of The Friendship Circle to our services at Project CHILLD. Children 4 to 12 years of age who face challenges with social development will benefit from this small group setting. Each child can learn and practice skills that create and maintain relationships with peers as well as adults. Each group will consist of 3-6 children of similar age and development. Every weekly unit will include an overview for the children, a concept lesson plan related to the weeks skill focus, and carryover/generalization ideas for your family.

The Friendship Circle will meet once each week for 8 weeks. An Occupational Therapist and a Speech Pathologist will lead our groups. The size of our groups will be 3-6 children, carefully matched by age and level of development. Each session will last one hour, and will focus on fostering specific skills for children's social development.

Week One will be our Parents-Only meeting, to introduce the program and therapists to you, share expectations, and answer any questions you may have. In the following weeks, topics will include Personal Space, Sharing/Trading, Body Language, Self-Control, Conversational Skills, and Attention. Our final week will be the Wrap-Up session, during which we invite you to share the final half hour with your child in the group setting. This will be an opportunity to exchange feedback with the therapists and other parents.

Our first session will begin Tuesday, March 10, 2009, 10:30-11:30 am. Call early, slots will fill up quickly! Subsequent sessions will be scheduled each month as groups fill up, and we will gladly place your child on our list for later sessions if needed.

Fee: $450.00 - 8 week program
