What is a Mental Health Counseler?

Through attentive listening and thoughtful analysis of problems, mental health counselors strive to build working relationships with clients in which honesty, trust and acceptance are possible. Within this relationship, we share ideas and techniques suited to the needs of each client. We focus, not only on relief of symptoms, but on assisting clients to establish ongoing ways of coping and reacting in order to achieve and maintain lives of minimal distress, optimal health and personal fulfillment. Here at Project CHILLD we desire to help children, adolescents, adults and families find support and strength to deal with the emotional, social, and relational stresses of their daily lives.
